Gentlemen:
We reply to your request for clarification on the news entitled “DMCI wins P2.27-billion LRT Line 2 Antipolo extension contract” posted in BusinessMirror (Internet Edition) on January 27, 2015. The article reported in part that:
“The P2.27-billion contract to construct the guideways for the extension of the Light Rail Transit (LRT) Line 2 to Antipolo City has been awarded to a local construction company, the Department of Transportation and Communications (DOTC) said on Tuesday.
Transportation Secretary Joseph Emilio A. Abaya said the multibillion-peso deal was granted to D.M. Consunji Inc. (DMCI), which was given 18 months to complete the civil works for the 3.9-kilometer elevated viaduct of the east train line to Masinag Junction in Antipolo City.
. . . .”
We wish to confirm that our construction subsidiary, D.M. Consunji, Inc. was awarded the Php2.27-billion Contract for the Civil Works of LRT Line 2 East (Masinag) Extension by the Department of Transportation and Communications (DOTC). The project involves the construction of 3.934 kilometer elevated guideway/viaduct for the extension of the existing LRT Line 2 system eastward from the existing Santolan Station along Marcos Highway, Pasig City and terminating at the intersection of Marcos Highway and Sumulong Highway to Masinag, Cainta, Rizal. DMCI was given 18 months to complete the civil works for the elevated guideway or viaduct.
